06/22/2010 - (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Minnesota Twins go after a third straight win this evening when they open a three-game interleague series with the Milwaukee Brewers at Miller Park.
After losing the first game of their three-game set with the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday, the Twins rallied from five runs down in the ninth to pull out a 13-10, 11-inning victory on Saturday, then claimed the series win by beating Roy Halladay on Sunday, 4-1.
Carl Pavano notched his second complete game of the season to outduel the great Halladay and Justin Morneau finished 2-for-4 with a homer and two runs scored to help the Twins win their sixth straight interleague series on the road.
Denard Span also went deep, while Joe Mauer and Jason Kubel each knocked in a run each for the Twins, who have won four of six overall.
Pavano (8-6) scattered four hits and a run with two strikeouts to record his third straight win.
"A complete game, in that heat, shutting a good team down like that? That's impressive," said Twins manager Ron Gardenhire of Pavano's day on the mound. "It's an unbelievable lineup there and Carl kept them off-balance."
Hoping for a similar outing tonight will be righty Scott Baker, who is 6-5 with a 4.41 ERA. Baker was brilliant in beating the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday, as he scattered two hits and struck out 12 over seven scoreless innings.
"It was pretty close to as good as it gets," Baker said after the win. "They were super-aggressive, so I was going to use that to my advantage. They were swinging, and as long as I made good pitches I didn't have much trouble. They're a good offense, no doubt about it, but if you execute pitches, I don't care who you're facing -- you're going to get outs."
Baker is 4-2 in six starts against the Brewers with a 4.93 ERA.
Milwaukee will counter with lefty Chris Narveson, who has lost three of his last four decisions. Narveson was charged with the loss on Wednesday in Anaheim, as the Angels ripped him for five runs and seven hits in 4 1/3 innings, dropping him to 5-4 on the year, while raising his ERA to 5.79.
This will be Narveson's first start against the Twins, but he has faced them twice out of the bullpen and allowed two runs in 1 1/3 innings of those outings.
Milwaukee enters tonight's tilt on a winning note after it salvaged the finale of its three-game set over the weekend with the Rockies, scoring five runs in the ninth to take Sunday's finale 6-1 to snap a four-game losing streak.
Minnesota took two of three from the Brewers earlier in the year and has won 11 of the 15 matchups since the start of the 2008 season.

Will Ohio State continue to run the table in College Football betting odds?
MySportsbook.com favors Buckeyes, Fighting Irish and Golden Bears in this weekend's big games.
NEW YORK, NY, Sept. 21 - My Sportsbook NCAA football fans: things are beginning to get really interesting on college football's national stage. Following last weekend's "Separation Saturday", which included five teams ranked in the top 15 dropping games, the BCS Championship picture is beginning to take shape - with Ohio State leading the charge. And, according to odds makers at MySportsbook.com, the number-one-ranked Buckeyes will continue their winning ways this weekend.
Revenge will be the name of the game in Columbus this Saturday, as Ohio State looks to even the score following last season's loss to Joe Paterno's Nittany Lions. Although Penn State are listed as 16.5 point underdogs, they are 11-10 all-time versus the Buckeyes. Paterno and the Lions, however, will have to shut down Heisman Trophy favorite Troy Smith who has thrown for 769 yards and seven touchdowns this season.
Speaking of revenge, Notre Dame will be out for some against Michigan State, following last year's 44 - 41 overtime loss to the Spartans in South Bend. The thirteenth-ranked Irish, listed as a 3-point favorite, will also be looking to avenge last Saturday's thrashing from the Michigan Wolverines. The Spartans, meanwhile, have won seven of the last nine match-ups against Notre Dame and are coming off an impressive 38-23 victory over Pittsburgh.
Out west, 22nd-ranked Arizona State will be battling for their first victory over 21st-ranked California since 2000. Although the Golden Bears are listed as 7.5-point favorites, the Sun Devils are 3-0, lead the nation in sacks with 18 and possess the Pac-10's leading passer in sophomore quarterback Rudy Carpenter.
